cornflower – subtle earthy, pretty blue flowers, and good for calming the nerves

lemon verbena – light, lemony, and clarity-boosting

calendula – warm, golden flowers, and soothing for digestion and inflammation, good for vision annnd skin

honey bush – sweet, smooth, and caffeine-free, grounding the blend

orange peels - more brightness, citrusy,

it's caffeine free but still very stimulating with the citrus notes. flavorful but in a nice soothing way.

i made something that helps us feel grounded and inspired w/ the pen.

about Zoe

i met Zoe in my mfa program at UMass. a brilliant writer, she fought for racial equity in a racist mfa program. she used her experiences as the only Black woman in our mfa to advocate for systemic change. Zoe never stopped fighting for Black writers and people. In 2020 she died of covid early in the pandemic in NYC due to medical racism. The loss of Zoe was felt profoundly by her public school students in Brooklyn and anyone who crossed her path, whether in the academy or at the hockey game.
